About Me

Who would have thought that almost four years after updating this site, I might actually get around to writing this section. So much for "coming soon", right?

I was born in California, grew up in Colorado, went to college in Kansas, and have since moved on to Tennessee. My family (or most of them, anyway) still reside in Colorado and I get back to visit once a year or so. No kids myself, however, my two dogs are pretty dang close.

I've been involved in RPGs since I was 13 (I'll just say that it's been at least 12 years since I picked up my first RPG sourcebook). I started with D&D 2nd edition, but found Palladium to be my niche. My first Palladium game was Robotech - in fact the first book I picked up was Southern Cross. From there I migrated to Ninjas & Superspies. I remember in the back of my copy there was an ad for the upcoming release of the Rifts RPG. I was excited, so I picked it up as soon as I could. I've been hooked since.

I've gone through phases where something about Palladium or the game or the rules bothered me and I'd try something else. Trouble was, I'd always try to recreate the Rifts setting in some other game. Mashing the awesome-ness that is Rifts into any other rule system is just too much work, so I kept coming back. I still love me a good game of Rifts (though I can never seem to find anyone who wants to run a game), but I've also become a fan of many other games: Scion (White Wolf), Earthdawn (FASA/Living Room Games), Shadowrun (FASA, Fanpro), GURPS 4th Edition (Steve Jackson Games), various settings for D&D/d20 3rd edition and revised 3rd edition. I also own at least one copy of just about every other game Palladium has ever published (as of my writing this, I don't have a copy of Dead Reign or Splicers).

My Interests

In addition to my love of the game, I'm an avid photographer and reader. There's a great many TV shows that I've loved over the years (Dark Angel, Stargate, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and others) and movies. None of that compares, though, to my interest in music. I don't have a bone of musical talent in my body (though I'm trying to teach myself how to play the guitar), but in another life I probably could have made a kick ass DJ. In this life, however, I make due as a Web programmer and geek.
