Of Darkness & Light

The remainder of the first day was spent looking into various leads and dealing with a small group of three Dark Elves who have presented themselves as well as dealing with the disease brought about by immersion in the sludge of the Hollowfaust sewers.

After a brief and, luckily, non-violent confrontation between Osmodel and the three dark elves, all retired -- the Dwarf rather uncerimoniously tossed, unconscious from the alcohol, onto the bed in his room at the inn.

The following morning, Quarian met with the three dark elves and asked a great many questions, a majority of them left unanswered. The dark elves have revealed only that they are in Hollowfaust to speak with the Sovereign Council and that they know nothing of the coal goblins, including what they are. After meeting with the druid, the three dark elves departed the inn. Much of the afternoon was spent trying to gather additional information on the dark elves and seeking a divine cure for the fever all three developed.

After returning from one of the many errands to the temple, Isek -- the guildsman heading the investigation into the murder of Linlith Aslan -- hired the three individuals as bodyguards for another guildsman -- of the Disciples of the Abyss -- named Dalimyr who he believes may be a target for the coal goblin assassins. Quarian, Feng, and Osmodel agreed and met with Dalimyr. Dalimyr was immediately resentful of the additional security and escaped their custody that night.

Unknown to Dalimyr was that Quarian managed to follow the necromancer to The Door of Night -- the local shrine to Belsameth. There, he witnessed Dalimyr take possession of a package and return to his place of temporary residence. Dalimyr worked late into the night under the watchful, and less sleepy, eyes of Osmodel and Quarian before retiring to his room.

While Dalimyr slept, Osmodel, Quarian, and Feng remained in the necromancer's study and looked over the items on the work table -- all apprently maps of the local region and even the city itself. Quarian quietly brought the package Dalimyr had carefully hidden on the top of one of the bookcases.

Examining the parcel revealed it to be a book -- one roughly the same size and description of the item they saw one of the coal goblins escape with. The three opened the book and found it to be some kind of instruction manual. It referenced the University of Arts in Amalthea in the first few pages, the remaining pages covered in arcane symbols.

Not-so-subtly waking Dalimyr and questioning him with various methods -- including Feng shaking the physically fragile wizard -- the three learned of the possible involvement of a third individual -- Ner Akem. Dalimyr revealed that Ner Akem sent him to pick up the book from Maliyet and that he would later meet Akem to hand the book over.

Osmodel relayed the implication of Maliyet to Isek, who has sent several members of the Stygian Guard to speak with the Priestess.
