On the WotC (does anyone else pronounce that as a word?) message boards, someone expressed dissatisfaction with the standard "Death" domain when it came to priests of Kelemvor. Priests of Kelemvor weren't about inflicting death, they argued, but rather about preparing the dead and making sure they stayed dead. As such, I put together this domain. It may, in the future, have more domains added to it as I come up with more.
Deity: Kelemvor
Granted Power: Once per day, you may calm grief. This allows one person to act without grief for eight hours, then for the grief to resume normally. Knowledge (death and undead) is a class skill.
Level 1: Gentle Repose (With no refrigeration and primitive embalming, a
necessary spell to prepare for a funeral)
2: Negative Energy Protection
3: Magic Circle against Evil (Priests of Kelemvor routinely deal with
undead; this protects them from many of their powers)
4: Death Ward
5: Dispel Undead (as Dispel Evil, but focussed towards undead)
6: Holy Word
7: Resurrection
8: Finger of Death
9: True Resurrection
The last three are based around the idea that Kelemvor not only oversees the dead, but he _can_ inflict or rescind death if he chooses. These spells are good for combating undead, with Gentle Repose in as a 1st level spell because even a low-level village priest is going to need that to keep the corpse looking decent until burial.
