Tree Diving and other Roguish Behavior

When someone falls off something he really shouldn't have been climbing in the first place, his character take criticals based on the height of the fall. Assume they can fall their height without seriously hurting themselves (i.e. no criticals) if they make a Dexterity check. A fall from up to three times their height (at 6'4", any fall up to 19 feet for me) counts as a Small weapon, from more than up to six times as a Medium weapon, and more than nine times as a large, and more than 12 times a huge, more than fifteen a gargantuan. Roll normal damage, which they take, no questions asked. Then you check for a critical, with each successful Dexterity check lowering the size of the weapon by 1 (so if I were to fall from 20 feet up, a Dexterity check would mean I wouldn't take a critical, while it would take 5 Dexterity checks in a row to avoid a critical from a height of 95 feet or greater. Either way, I still take 1d6 damage for every 10 feet fallen.

As to how to determine where you hit, I would roll randomly... and then apply it across the body as you feel appropriate. However, I would let someone with tumbling determine what part of the body they land on, and maybe even roll with the fall to limit the damage to that part.
